The Stamps Quartet boasts the longest history of any professional, male quartet, in America still in existence and singing today.

According to music historians,  the Stamps Quartet is the most recognized and awarded Gospel quartet in history.

Ed Enoch,  owner – manager – lead vocalist,  the Stamps Quartet,  was granted the official trademark of  ownership to the historical Stamps Quartet name,  August 2003,  from the United States Patent and Trademark Office,  Washington, DC.

The Stamps Quartet has obtained  “legendary” status in the ranks of Gospel Music.

The Stamps Quartet was  influential in the formation and charter of the National Quartet Convention,  Gospel Music Association,   Gospel Music Hall of Fame,  and  Dove Awards.

The Stamps Quartet has received numerous Grammy and Dove Awards:     “Best Gospel Group”   and   “Best Gospel Albums”.

The Stamps Quartet’s distinctive sound has become their trademark.
The Stamps sound has often been imitated – but never duplicated.

Already a top-act in the music industry – the Stamps Quartet rocketed to fame when they became back-up vocalists and toured  with  the   “World’s Greatest Entertainer”,  Elvis Presley,  from 1971 – 1977.

The Stamps Quartet was the first Gospel quartet to sing live on the first   “world-wide”   performance, in January 1973,
via satellite,  during Elvis Presley’s  “Aloha From Hawaii”   live concert and video.

Ed Enoch and The Stamps Quartet  were featured on the Golden Globe Award-winning American musical documentary
Motion picture  “Elvis On Tour”  released by MGM in 1972.

The Stamps Quartet has performed with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra during Elvis Presley memorial celebrations,
Symphonic, Pops  and Philharmonic Orchestras, nationally and internationally.

The Stamps Quartet has toured nationally and internationally with  “Elvis-The Concert” tour from January 1996 to October 2008.

2014 -2015 – 2016 – 2017 – 2018 The Stamps Quartet toured Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Denmark, and Austria in concert with Elvis – The Musical.  A four-act play  written, produced and directed by Mr. Bernhard Kurz, Berlin, Germany .

The Stamps Quartet are members of the “Gospel Music Hall of Fame”.

This year 2018 – marks the 94th anniversary of the legendary, world-famous, Stamps Quartet.   This remarkable milestone offers a tribute to  the Stamps Quartet’s  long and accomplished career in Gospel and Secular music.

The Stamps Quartet had its original beginnings in 1924 in the State of Texas, Upshur County.   The Stamps Quartet’s original founders were   V.O. Stamps and  Frank Stamps, Gilmer, TX.

The Stamps Quartet was the first Gospel quartet to sing on KRLD Radio, Dallas, Texas – with the daily noon broadcast as well as a Sunday  morning broadcast.

October 9, 1927,  the Stamps Quartet recorded  “Give The World A Smile”, and became the first professional, Gospel quartet to record for a major recording label,  RCA Victor.

The Stamps Quartet was the first professional quartet to sell over   “one million”  copies of a Gospel quartet song.
“Give The World A Smile”  became the theme song for the legendary Stamps Quartet.

The Stamps Quartet has influenced the growth of Southern Gospel music for 94 years.

The Stamps Quartet was honored by the grand State of Texas for their 85 years of service singing Gospel music.
The State Flag of Texas was flown over the capital building in Austin, TX,  in honor of the legendary Stamps Quartet’s 85th  anniversary.   That flag was presented to Ed Enoch,  by Texas State Representative, Stephen Frost during the Stamps Quartet concert at the First United Methodist Church, Atlanta, TX.

The Stamps Quartet has been a Southern Gospel institution for 94 years.   The Stamps Quartet is the   “oldest professional Gospel quartet in the history of America, and thanks to the expertise of legendary vocalist, Ed Enoch, owner-manager, of
the Stamps Quartet they are still singing and recording today.

The Stamps Quartet has brought joy to numerous generations of music lovers, and the Stamps beautiful and inspirational harmonies  continue to be treasured by all who share in their ongoing musical journey.

As in the beginning – the Stamps Quartet was originated in 1924.  Many skeptics said  “The Stamps Quartet  won’t last six months”,  but the legacy of this historical Stamps Quartet has endured  “highs and lows”   for  94 years and are going “full speed”  today.

The Stamps Quartet will continue with the grace of God, as long  “as there is a song to sing”.
